1349 bring chaos to the dark Underworld

1349 **** With every release 1349 become more and more one of the leading forces in Black Metal today. Their latest album 'Massive cauldron of Chaos' show them at their most accessible, well far as 1349 releases go anyway. The band have one of the most consistent back catalogue's of recent times. The band capture Black Metal at it's most primitive and confrontational.

Starting off with the trilogy of some of the most bewildering Black Metal, 'Liberation, Beyond the Apocalypse' and 'Hellfire' as experimental as the band got later in their career they always maintained a high quality of song craft, massive cauldron of chaos takes all the bands elements and strength's and pushes them all to the forefront.

All the songs throughout the bands career fit well tonight, Frost's drumming has to be seen to believed. He is by far one of the greatest drummers alive today. It's a shame he isn't recognized beyond the realm of Black Metal but I'm sure he's not bothered. The hole band are on form, delivering a stellar performance. When the band hit the stage tonight they take no prisoner's Kicking straight into 'Maggot Fetus' from the controversial 'Revelations of the black Flame' album.

A ballsy move indeed! bassist Seidemann is in a full cloak like the reaper himself playing bass. All round the band look awesome and the whole evening feel's like a punk gig. It's funny really how much Black Metal and Punk have in common when both genre's are stripped to their bare bones. But the band are playing track after bewildering track covering every album to date. People are flying around left right and Centre, turning the venue into a scene of sheer chaos.

New tracks like 'Slaves' and 'Postmortem' already sound like bona fide classic and just make your taste buds water, while cuts like 'Chasing Dragons' and 'Exorcism' are just truly astounding and sound so big in the London, Underworld surroundings.

1349 are so much more then the drummer from Satyricon's other band. They are one of Black Metal's finest bands and where Satyricon have changed out of the genre and now have turned into an incarnation of something a bit different from what they sounded like when they were formed, 1349 I have truly embraced it and produced album after album of brilliant Black Metal classic material. 1349 are a band that really should not be ignored, that can produce something great on record and live.
