'Landmine' shows potential!!!

Allyson Ezell is a female American singer songwriter, you now know exactly what she is going to sound like don't you. Blazing pop American Idol style anthems or a bit of a Pop slant Katy Perry wannabe, well this case you would be wrong on both counts. I was trying to think of somebody I thought she sounded like, I was actually pleased that I couldn't there is a refreshing uniqueness to the sound.

'Landmine' is the forthcoming single, the first to be taken from her new EP. The track takes a mix of styles, I can hear a bit of Pop, Folk a dash of Trip Hop even with the beats yet it all blends seamlessly. It is nice to have an act making a tune that does not instantly fit one of the pre made boxes and doing it very well. Vocally it is captivating and really draws you into the tune.

The B-Side is 'Beat this Drum'  which may come as no surprise is led by the beat of a drum. The music has been stripped back with the vocals and what could almost be a rap backing tune over the top, again a mix of influences and styles working well together. In one sense the voice is the main instrument almost in a Folk way with the guitar replaced by the drum. If this early example is anything to go by, she may start with 'Landmines' but has the potential to blow you away.
