Promising new act for the future of Metal!
London based Rock band Amaryllis are set to release their new EP 'Revolt' on 12th May. This release is great and would recommend to fans of Sleeping with Sirens and Pierce the Veil. These British rockers are an up and coming act who have previously toured with bands such as Elliot Minor and The Dirty Youth, and have certainly made a good impact on the Rock music scene of the last year, with their self titled EP reaching 10,000 downloads and 25,000 plays. 'Revolt' is a record that hit you straight away with it's breed of Metalcore / Screamo that actually stands out in genre full of similar bands.
Amaryllis are influenced by a variety of bands like Biffy Clyro and Young Guns to Deftones and You me at Six which offer an emotional value with their music. Amaryllis have since made it their goal to take their listeners to places no other band would, and they will certainly reach that goal with 'Revolt'.
The EP kicks off with 'Kings' with a great intro to keep the listener intrigued, the intro is up beat and then the lyrics start, these are catchy and will certainly stay with the listener. The EP ends with 'Strangers in August' this song is slower than the first four tracks on the EP which proves that the band can vary their style and have a wider fan base, never the less the song is catchy and although it’s a little slower than the rest of this release.
It certainly takes the listener to places no other band would. With great riffs and impressive vocals throughout the EP this is one band the music scene will have to keep an eye on over the next twelve months. I think that in the future as they progress their sound will get more polished and bigger and I can see them maybe playing big venues and tours like Vans Warped in a few years.
I liked this EP but it needs to grow on me a bit more, if you want to make your own mind up about this band you can catchy Amaryllis on a UK tour with Ugly Love and Carbon in June so go and see if they can produce this CD on the live stage.
