Asking Alexandria - Are back with full force
*****
OH! my God!!! Asking Alexandria are back!!!
Asking Alexandria ***** are back at the London, Brixton o2 Academy on their 'The Resurrection' co headline tour with Black veil Brides. I have to say I was looking forward to seeing this band for the first time in a long time, because Danny was back on lead vocals. Denis Stoff who took over from Danny on vocals in 2015 was not really my cup of tea and I found I really went off the band.
They come on with full force and sounding bigger than ever... for opener 'Into the Fire' off their fifth self titled studio album. You can hear from start to finish that their sound has really evolved from what it was before, and they have a new grown up attitude. You can hear that singer Danny Warsnop's vocals sound better than they ever have done before. He has been homing his craft in different genre's including Rock and even Country.
His new vocals work really well on new song 'Vultures' which he does acoustic and 'Moving On', which he comes on with a guitar to play. The band have really gone out to make their show tonight stand out, with a massive video scream and a lot of pyrotechnics. But as always one of the stand out moments of the bands set is when everyone sings "Oh my God!" lyrics from the bands big single 'The Final Episode'.
Other stand out tracks include 'Run Free' with it's fast paced heavy attitude and classic 'A Prophecy' which is a fan favourite and one of the songs that made Asking Alexandria big. It has a mix of heavy and soft vocals and is really catchy.
I think this was a really good comeback to form for Asking Alexandria, they might look a bit different with Danny sporting a short hair cut and bit of a hipster beard. But they sound better than ever and Ben Bruce has really improved on guitar, this is a band that is really going forward. I think you will be seeing a lot more from them in the future.
