Attila - It's all about this band!!!

March 6th 2015
London, Electric Ballroom, UK

*****

We are delighted by Attila's 'Guilty Pleasures'!!!

Attila ***** is am album that really grows on you and shows that payback is a B**ch... the band have named and shamed the cowards that hide behind the internet and brought them to justice (I say about time). Tonight's show is totally Sold Out!!! with people outside without a ticket trying to get in... because this is the hottest ticket in town. Atlanta, Georgia's Metalcore heavy weights Attila do not hold back and this is shown as the launch into single 'Proving Grounds' which is a heavy built explosion of sound.

But this is the wake before the storm as they bring in the thundering 'Hellraiser' off the bands best / most popular album 'About that Life'... a song about going out and raising Hell. This is something that Attila always do when they are out and and about, even though I thought they had calmed down a little and where not causing as much trouble. But if some of the lyrics on 'Guilty Pleasures' are to go by then this is not the case, Attila still have a lot to say and their not afraid to say it. I really respect this in a World where bands are too afraid to say what they think, or don't get signed if they do... Attila just don't give a F**K!!! and that's what I love about them. For 'Hellraiser' they are joined on stage by Joel Heywood of Silent Screams who has been supporting the band on the tour, so this makes it extra special.

Like the addition of 'Rage' from the 2010 album of the same name to the set... Yes early stuff makes the die hard's happy. Any song in the bands set could have been a single for them, their all that strong and the absence of guitarist Nate Salameh, who left the band recently has not effected them at all. I saw Escape the Fate recently and their down again to a four piece, the same as Attila and it just makes the members that are left go for it more. The band just go simply crazy and heavy as F**K with the brilliant 'Break Shit', which even verges on Death Metal at times, before launching into Rap and Metalcore. This is a really fast song and always is one that works well to mix up their set.

Frontman Chris Fronzak is really on form today and has so much life in him, such a change from when I saw them on the Black veil Brides tour and the sound was really low and the band seemed pissed off to be their. Venues like the London, Electric Ballroom are perfect for Attila, this is where they can rule as kings. Even older songs like 'Sex, Drugs and Violence' seem to be given a new life and stand up against 'Middle finger Up' and fast Rock number 'Shots for the Boys', a song that tells you to "Party like a B**ch' (Something everyone in the venue is actually doing!!!). Everyone in attendance tonight is having the time of their lives and just going all out.

'Outlawed' is such an underrated album, and my favourite track off it is the last one 'Payback'. This song for me is always a highlight of the bands set, in a strange way it is uplifting and get's you to take part even more. Sad thing is that they don't play more songs from the new album 'Guilty Pleasures', I would like to have heard 'Pizza, Sex and Trolls', which is one of the best new tracks. But we are not totally disappointed because the tongue tying 'Horsepig', shows that the new album has some killer songs on it. We are lead into the last song of the bands set 'Callout', like on the album with 'Gimmicks and Lie$' which is a short interval. This song ends the set in the right way, the Attila way!!!.

They come back on for a two song encore of two of the most popular tracks 'Party with the Devil' and 'About that Life', both songs see the crowd singing every word and the band going even more crazy. These awesome songs end a fantastic fun evening in London in the right way, if you have not seen Attila live then you really should. This is a band that is one of the best live acts around at the moments, they don't have a big stage show... they don't need it... their just pure Metalcore power!!!. A great evening from an exciting act.
