Billy Talent go crazy in London!!!

Vans Warped Tour

Billy Talent **** (West Stage) having played yesterday on the exact same stage and the exact same side, actually I think it was even at the same time. Today have to decided to up their game and their set is a real different from the one the day previous. They have learned from their performance yesterday and fixed all the problems they had. This is a very smart band they know when they have to do something to make their band better and that's why I think they have done so well and are playing so high up on the bill.

They play one different song today 'Turn your Back' which replaces 'Line and Stinker' which must not have gone down so well on the first day of the London leg of the Vans Warped tour, but you do wonder why they chose to leave out 'The Ex' which for me is one of the bands best songs and always goes down well when performed live. This single was one of the first I heard by the band, and I think it's is one of their most commercial songs.

Singer Benjamin Kowalewicz has a great stage presence and goes crazy for every song and you can understand why so many people like them. They are fun, energetic and really know how to Punk it up... but this is new Punk this is not Punk how it used to be. Guitarist backing singer Ian D'Sa has real determination as he thrashes through opening numbers 'Devil in a midnight Mass' and 'Viking death March', these songs are really lively and bouncy today and show the band in a really good light and you can see smiles a plenty in the audience tonight.

If you have never heard Billy Talent before you will not know they can be a little obnoxious at times and even grate on ones nerves but over the last few years have seemed to win over quite a few of the doubters with their great liver performances. The great 'Try Honesty' comes across really well and fills every spot in the bands set, this is a big hit song and is always a great way to get a set back on track if it's going badly.

This also leads onto great versions of 'Devil on my Shoulder, Fallen Leaves' and a fantastic version of 'Surprise, Surprise' which is one of the best songs in the whole set and where they should have ended it rather than with 'Red Flag' which just can't live up to the song before. I will check out Billy Talent for sure in the future because their show was really enjoyable and they seem to have got a lot better in the last few years.
