Bleeding Through - A band that needs to be where they deserve to be
*****
Lost in a hail of spinning kicks, and forgotten not like the bands that came up in the scene with them
Bleeding Through ***** are a from Orange County, that I have been following for a long time. They were hyped as one of the bands to make it really big, along with Eighteen Visions, Avenged Sevenfold and Bring me the Horizon. The last of which actually support the band around the UK on 'The Truth' tour, I actually think they might have been the opening act, on that tour.
Tonight Bleeding Through are back at the London, Camden Underworld, a venue that they have had so many legendary shows at. And the wait of six years is far too much for a lot of the people in attendance, who have been looking forward to this show for a long time. So many Hardcore / Metalcore kids are here tonight, they might look a little older... but they still have the love for the genre.
Some of them are still trying to do the rotating scissor spin, like seen in the bands video for 'Love lost in a hail of Gunfire'. To the annoyance of anyone who is just trying to watch the live music tonight, and end up with a foot in their face. But maybe some people really do need a slap in the face, because this is a band that should be up their with the big names in the scene. Their last album, the 2018 'Love will kill All', is simply fantastic.
I think the band must have complete confidence in this record, because they open with the two opening tracks off it. 'Darkness a feeling I Know' and 'Fade into the Ash', which go down so well to the London audience. The band still look really good as well with Brandan Schieppati, still being a muscular full bodied figure of brutal force. And the lovely Marta Peterson, looking determined to produce a great set, even when her keyboard stand malfunctions half way through the performance. She keeps playing, and it doesn't dent the bands set in any way.
The band play songs from throughout their career, from the majority of their albums. 'The Great Fire' the album before the bands split being kind of forgotten, I am not sure why... but maybe because they want to play the songs the fans want more. And we do get that, with anthems like songs of the brilliant and commercially successful album 'The Truth', like 'For love and Failing' and 'Kill to Believe'. I always loved 'Love is slow Motion' off this record, which isn't played tonight.
Even though 'The Truth' might be the bands most popular record with most people, I think 'This is Love, This is Murderous' is the bands definitive album, with the track 'Lost in a hail of gun Fire' being the track and video that really made an impact on the Metalcore / Hardcore scene. Being the song that I personally will admit, had a big impact on me. I know this song and the album it came from, came when I was having a hard time and really helped me out. So I think this is a very important record, for the genre the band come from.

The crowd really go crazy for the band, and I think the connection between the members of Bleeding Through and the fans is second to none. So songs like anthem 'Kill to Believe' and 'Love lost in a hail of gun Fire' are maniac but really emotional to me and the audience. As well as the classic 'Revenge I Seek' and the live favourite old school 'Rise' which originally featured John Pettibone singer from one of my favourite bands Himsa.
Brandan does talk to the crowd about life, love and the band. And I have to say all of which are on fine form tonight, with bass player Ryan Wombacher really standing out for me. This is a fine performance, by a great band... who's time will really come. And you can hear this in 'Declaration (You can't destroy what you can not Replace)', this is pure quality and makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on edge. Also another stand out track I just have to mention is the bands last single 'Set me Free' which you can see at the bottom of this page... it show the band still have that special something.
If you have not seen Bleeding Through live, then you must because I think they are one of the most important acts to ever be produced on the Hardcore / Metalcore scene. And you wouldn't have bands like Motionless in White and Avenged Sevenfold around now if it was not for them, so keep an eye on them... because Bleeding Through are a band that are not going away.
