Brand new Moon - Is a soundscape, a dreamscape... something different

Brand new Moon is a project lead by singer and keyboardist Mike Barrett, formerly of Fiction (Moshi Moshi) will release a ten-track debut album through Same Page Records on the 26th of October 2018. ‘Difference and Repetition’ is available digitally and as a limited edition cassette tape, was self-produced in Barrett’s London home studio and represents two years of writing and recording with a handful of like minded collaborators.

Blending intricate, dream like imagery with a multi-layered and cinematic palette, the record charts a course through changing times and repeated patterns, both cultural and personal. Album opener ‘Northridge ‘94’, for example, uses the Los Angeles earthquake of 1994 as a lens to explore the death of the American dream, while ‘Mock-Tudor’ weaves a nostalgic journey through English suburbia featuring obsolete phones and a Goldeneye N64 game cartridge. The album includes acclaimed singles ‘Diehard’ and ‘Wild’.
