Bring a lighting rig to a sunny day!

June 30th 2013
Graspop Festival, Belgium

Too much of the same from the Swedish giants!

In Flames *** the blasting amazing Gothenburg band have been going for quite a while now and have a giant body of work to pull out gems from. They have brought a massive lighting rig with them, which is totally useless because it's bright sunlight at the Graspop Festival.

In Flames have influenced so many different genres of music and created the Gothenburg sound but have become a ghost of their past glories and don't play a lot of the older and better material. When they do play songs like 'Pinball Map' you can see that they can still play the old songs with precision and accuracy.

The is incendiary versions of the tracks 'The Mirror's Truth' and 'Fear is the Weakness' which go down really well with the later having a great Iron Maiden Esq. guitar sound to it. These furious version are great to hear and get you ready for closing number 'Take this Life' which has a hint of Korn to it's sound. This was a good steady set for In Flames and I do like the new material but would have liked to hear more classic songs in their set.
