Buckcherry - Are back!!!
****1/2
Are you ready to Rock 'n' Roll!!!
Graspop Metal Meeting
Buckcherry **** Some people have really seemed to have written Buckcherry and they are wrong to do this, because this is a pure blood Classic Rock band that should be on the big stage near the top of the bill not on the small Jupiler stage that they have been put on today. They storm the stage opening up with their classic track 'Lit Up', which is one of the most Rock 'N' Roll songs around in the World today.
Josh Todd swaggers around the stage singing with his distinctive vocal style and you can see he wants to have some fun today. At the same time Stevie D delights fans by flicking loads of plectrums at them like he is getting rid of his whole tour stash. They then follow this up with the fast old number 'Dead Again' and you realise Buckcherry are back and at their full force again. The band really launch at you frusting this speedy Rock tune down your throats before they hit you with their WWE friendly tune 'All night Long' off the album of the same name.
This tune is a shake your hips and dance around kind of song so works well live and the band really look like they are enjoying playing it. 'Broken Glass' though is the track that really makes the crowd explode in a frenzy as the band go crazy playing it. You can hear everyone screaming out "Standing on broken Glass!!!" as they rock back and forth in time to the music.
They slow everything down with a brilliant heart felt version of their hit 'Sorry' and a Funky funny version of the AC/DC song 'Big Balls' which brings some humour to their set. Newish songs 'Gluttony' and 'Wrath' off their last album 'Confessions' don't seem out of place in the set and go down as well as other songs in the set but it's 'Crazy Bitch' that has the biggest impact and is a great way to end the bands set.
If you have not seen Buckcherry then where have you been, because they are one of the best old school Rock band around these days that still puts on the same intensity in their show as they did in day one. So I advise you go and see them. I just don't understand why they where on the small stage because this is an important Rock band and far better than bands like Steel Panther which are just a joke and Alterbridge which for me don't hit all the spots that Buckcherry hit, playing the main stage over the weekend. I advise you to go out and buy Buckcherry's albums asap... you won't be able to put them down.
