Cage Fight - A Metal band about to breakthrough

Cage Fight open up Voodoo Rock!!!

Cage Fight **** are a band that everyone has been talking about, and tonight they have been honoured with the role of opening up the Voodoo Rock, London event. Playing alongside with three of the hottest newish bands in the Metal scene, the mighty Red Method, The Five Hundred and Exist Immortal. Promoter Larry London has really put a great night together here, and with the fact all four bands don't play at the same time... this was always going to be a great night. The four bands play accross two stages, upstairs and downstairs at the London, Electrowerkz in Angel.

As I arrived at the venue Cage Fight burst into their first song 'Shine don't Fade', which comes off their self titled album that will be released on May 13th via Candlelight Records. A lot of people must have wanted to see Cage Fight, because the room is already packed, with people turning up early in order to get a good space for the bands performance. You can see immediately why with vocalist Rachel Aspe breaking into furious arm movements, and vocals that almost come out of the film 'The Exorcist'. Bass player Jon Reid looks a little more Nu-Metal, like he should be in Korn and Limp Bizkit.

As they show off skills that could bring the band into many genres including Metalcore, Deathcore, Thrash and Death Metal. They have very good stage presence, and really command the room... like they are born to be there. And you can see people that had never heard them before go, going who the Hell are these guys. That they are too good to be playing club nights, and should be headling venues like the Islington, o2 Acadmey or the Electric Ballroom in Camden.

Ok I have to admit that some of the performance is just the same thing, with some of the movements being used in different songs, but this is something the band will learn and deal with as they play more. And for a band that is breaking through, this is really expected to be this way. The tracks 'Guillotine' and the brilliant 'The Mirror Shattered' are highlights in the bands set, along with set closer 'Hope Casterated'. The whole set goes by really quickly, which is a good thing... because it shows that I might have enjoyed it.

And the crowd are left wanting more, and I can see them rushing over to the merchandise stand to buy a t-shirt or another souvenir. Cage Fight have some great imagiary, and the album cover, band shirts and other items look great. I think Cage Fight are a band that are going to really involve, and in a few years will take the Metal scene by storm. So I would see them, while you still can in a small venue. Keep checking back on Music Trespass Magazine, for new Cage Fight tour dates... we will upload them as soon as we know.
