Promising artist for the future!

Country to Country Festival

Chris Young **** is a promising new talent in the World of Country and he has already got a lot of respect from other people in the industry including today's headliner Brad Paisley who later on in the evening has a lot of fun and jokes with Chris onstage. He starts his set with 'A.M.' off his last album off the same name, on this track his voice resembles Trace Adkins in places. This song has a great commercial Country sound and is a good song to get feet tapping all around the arena.

He does ooze inexperience and his stage presence is a little dull in places but he makes up for that with his voice and the charisma and determination that he shows all over his face. He then breaks into a slow paced number off his second album 'The Man I want to Be' this songs drifts by with it's nice melodies leading the way and Chris seems very fresh for a man that is on his fourth album already which is a surprise because he only released his first back in 2008. These are songs that come from the heart and Chris Young really looks like he means every word he sings and 'Voices' off this album also shows this off well.

For me though 'Lonely Eyes' in his set is a great moment with everyone singing the chorus loud and proud and it really stands out in his set. This is a real Country
song and sounds like it's older than it is, it sticks in your head and you find yourself singing it later on. 'Who I am with You' is just beautiful and you can see
many tears in people's eyes around the audience, you can see that this was written from Chris's personal experience and this is what you want from a Country song.

Chris Young moves around the stage and tries to get things going with heavy treader 'Aw Naw' which is slightly faster in pace and his brilliant version of the ZZ Top song 'Sharp dressed Man' which travels around the arena really well. You can see people moving a little bit by now and 'I can take if from Here' gets even more heads nodding and their is a nice chant of Conway Twitty in the crowd. He ends the set with two of his biggest hits 'You' and 'Tomorrow' which sound incredible and show why this is a singer that is moving really fast in Country circles. These songs leave such a good impact on you and are songs that really help you get through things that are happening in your own life. This is an artist that will be headlining Country to Country in a few years so watch this space.
