The Color Morale - have the motavation to influence!
*****
Bring a new message of hope to London!
The Color Morale **** I first saw this band on the Vans Warped tour in the UK last year and I was really impressed. I had never heard of them before and stumbled across them by accident. They have a pure determination to impress you gracefully with songs that really break down boundaries and make you feel good, even though they have quite some intensity and underlining messages of compassion. Their not many bands that can be heavy and still bring their message across in their music without it sounding silly or preachy but The Color Morale can really do this.
Influenced by bands of the Post Punk / Hardcore scene like Thursday, Fugazi and even later on band Finch they really show what they are made of with every performance they make and singer Garret Rap really knows how to sing while also bring out the motivational message of hope that we talked about before. I think their latest album 'Know Hope' is one of the best Post Punk albums of the last ten years and the singles 'Strange Comfort' and 'Learned Behavior' are leading tracks that make this album so appealing.

Starting off with 'Burn Victims' which sounds even better live than it does on the CD and continuing with forcefully driven versions of their brilliant 'Learned Behavior' and the clenching track 'Demon Teeth' you know your watching a band that will be very influential in the future and a whole new selection of bands will come out worshipping their every word. Garret will spread this word and the youth will follow, because the band is really creditable and artistic but doesn't mean it's better than music that is more simplistic.
The band are laid back but in your face at the same time which is a confusing thing to be, they push forward to the front of the stage and are almost playing the show in the audience under full powerful lights. All in all this is a very powerful performance by a band that really know how to take advantage of their instruments to produce a great sound. If you have not seen The Color Morale I strongly advise you do because you will be very impressed, this is a must for fans of Post Punk, Finch and Thursday so don't ignore.
