Conor Maynard - Brings his beats to the Fusion Festival!
****
Showing that Conor Maynard is about to take off!!!
Fusion Festival
Conor Maynard **** is a very talented singer / songwriter from Brighton that got noticed singing other people's and his own songs on YouTube, his hits counter just kept going up until it got noticed by big names in the business. One of the people to notice him was American R&B star Ne-Yo who immediately took him under his wings because he couldn't believe how good Conor's version of his single 'Beautiful Monster' was. Since then Conor Maynard has been going from strength to strength and won award after award and now he hit's Birmingham with his mentor Ne-Yo for one day only at this year Fusion Festival.
Opening proceedings with his single 'Animal', Conor burst into action looking cool in dark shades as he walks round the stage. The audience are already singing every word and the occasional scream can be heard in between lyrics. The drums kick in and then the keyboards and he goes into the song 'Take Off' with a claps all around. He crouches down as he sings the lyrics and then jumps up and prances around the stage like a veteran in his game. This is great Pop music and everyone is surprised how he does it with ease like a man of past his years.
Next up is his single 'Vegas Girl' that is a favourite amongst the crowd today in the hot sun, it's great weather for this years 'Fusion Festival'. The beats are heavy and the song has a groove that even Justin Timberlake would have been happy of, this song is a great Pop song like all the songs on his debut album 'Contrast'. It even has a break down that you would find in a Michael Jackson song and we have no idea how someone so young can produce music like this.
Conor then shows his versatility with a cover version done acoustic, the Swedish house Mafia song 'Don't you worry Child'. This is the most heart felt version I have heard of this song and it even carries well on the festival stage today. He then merges the song into a short bit of the Daft Punk song 'Get Lucky' which is really cool. He worked in the studio with Pharrell Williams on the next song in his set 'Lift Off' which has really nice soothing melodies and is a really nice R&B ballad and works well in the hot sun. Especially when the Dub-Step hook kicks in.
He then breaks into early written song 'Headphones' which has a groove to it and is a little like a rhyme or a lullaby and shows a slight edge to him and works well when he breaks into hits single 'Can't say No' that everyone knows every word to and has one hell of a chorus hook "Houston, I think you've got a Problem" this song really lifts off and is one hell of a festival song. This wraps off his short set with style.
