Death Valley Scars go Pop!!!
Industrial Metal band Death Valley Scars are on the verge of releasing a special download for all you Kylie Minogue and 30 Seconds to Mars fans called 'Confide in Yesterday', the song was originally the idea of vocalist Dan Devour who is a self confessed Kylie Minogue fan.
"I always been a massive Kylie Minogue fan since I was a kid, and everyone that knows me will know I also love the band Hurts who covered one of my favourite songs 'Confide in Me'. This song has always been a dark moody song and Death Valley Scars is a band that is really about feelings. I am a manic depressive hence why our debut album 'Suicide, Sex and Suffering' deals with feelings of regret, unhappiness, loneliness and feelings about ending ones life. A lot of people have said to me that writing a record like this would make people want to kill themselves, but the album is not about that it's a big message to tell people not to do this." - Dan Devour (Death Valley Scars)
"A lot of the songs on this album were recorded when I was at my worst and I think hints of this has got into the atmosphere of the album, Our cover 'Confide in Yesterday' is a mixed up version of 'Confide in Me' by Kylie Minogue and 30 Seconds to Mars track 'From Yesterday', because we wanted to do it a little different from the original song and mixing the two really worked." - Dan Devour (Death Valley Scars)
My producer Ays Kura (Die Kur) said that 'Confide in Me' sounded very like the theme to the movie 'Requiem for a Dream' so we put that into the mix, but we all wanted something else for this song and I remembered that Jared Leto singer of the band 30 Seconds to Mars and uber famous actor starred in the movie so I thought what better than mixing it with one of their tracks and 'From Yesterday' came to mind so we added that in as well. I think the song has a very dark tone to it and the words mixed together really bring out the message we wanted from the release. I hope you will like it and we should be showcasing the song live soon!" -Dan Devour (Death Valley Scars)
