Destruction - Bringing turmoil and tension to London!
*****
Destruction bring Spiritual Genocide to the UK!
Tension is building up in the London Underworld as the crowd eagerly await the late arrival of the mighty Destruction. When the theme from the Hitchcock classic movie 'Psycho' comes through the PA the crowd roar with glee and are ready for the entrance of this classic Thrash Metal band. When Destruction finally explode onto the stage and are greeted like long lost relatives, that you have been waiting far too long to see.
The German Thrash band open up the show with the song 'Total Disaster' and this song tonight is not a disaster because I saw before my eyes the place exploding into a vision of chaos and frantic fists in the air. The atmosphere is really great throughout the whole of the bands performance and I wonder why this band aren't even bigger than they already are. The sound is crystal clear the stage looks awesome. Destruction make the most of a small venue and make it look like they are playing an arena.
They touch on all areas of their career setlist wise, playing a whopping near twenty five song set!. Yes this was a brilliant day to be a Destruction fan because you got everything you ever wanted. They go from newer songs from their Latest 'Spiritual Genocide' to tracks from their classic albums like 'Eternal Devastation'. The bands set is totally relentless throughout, and really in your face... but I think that is exactly what you want from them. Destuction are Thrash in it's purest form. They finish their marathon set with an awesome rendition of Venom's 'Black Metal', I think this is one of the best versions I have ever heard of this song and is one of the highlights of the bands performance to me.
And so glad that I was one of the few who stayed for the whole show, because you can see a few people reluctantly having to go so they don't miss their train. With the heat the band have built up tonight going out into the cold winter London night isn't so bad. I literally can't wait to see this band again, they really know how to put on a live show.
