The Devil wears Prada - Bring a little bit of Deathcore to the main stage!
***
The Devil wears Prada at the Graspop Metal Meeting!
The Devil wears Prada *** (Main Stage) are one of the bands that are most popular along with Bring me the Horizon and Parkway Drive on the Deathcore / Metalcore scene and have been gathering a massive following in the last few years, playing massive tours with big name bands. Their seems to be a bit of a buzz at the moment among the younger festival goers about the bands that have beatdowns so bands like The Devil Wears Prada and Parkway Drive have been moved from the tents and onto the main stage.
They play a stripped down version of 'Dez Moines' off their last album 'Dead and Alive' which for me is a little too simplistic and the vocals are not as good on it as previous release tracks. This song passes the time before they go into 'Danger: Wildman' that a live version of ended the last album, which has some great moments to it but does just seem like everything else.
You get a taster of a new song 'Mourners' which sounds brilliant and makes us look forward to the brand new album coming out. I think the next album will take them back to the heavier sound of the 2011 release 'Dead Throne', this album is the bands best work. Set opener' Mammoth' and 'Chicago, Dead Throne' and set closer 'Born to Lose' are taken from this album. These songs are the best moment of the bands performance and I think the more commercial 'Dead and Alive' is just a blink on the bands perfect rise. Deathcore fans don't want commercial they just want good heavy music and The Devil wears Prada make that so I will be checking out their feature releases with interest.
