Forever Never - Are flying the flag for Metal from Essex!!!
****1/2
The Essex boys are back in town!
Forever Never ****1/2 Tonight promises to be an exciting evening as The Borderline is being graced with two different, but very popular, upcoming bands Forever Never and Devilskin. Forever Never are a Essex Hard Rock band that have recently reappeared after a two year hiatus. Despite the relatively empty venue at this point, they come on stage with confidence and a cheeky Essex charm that you can’t help but like.
Kicking off with 'Never Enough', the fans that have got there early are treated to an eight song set that never lets up. They respond in accordance and give the band a very warm welcome to make them feel at home. You wouldn’t know they’d had two years away from the stage, as they sound great and play as tightly together as if they’d never stopped. Singer Renny Carrol possesses one of the most pleasing voices I have heard in a long time.
His tone is fantastic and he has a very wide vocal range, which doesn’t fail him tonight. The Essex five piece are a joy to watch as they look as though they are enjoying them selves every bit as much as their fans. Renny gives the thumbs up to the crowd after reassuring everyone that they really do love the devil, they just prefer thumbs to horns.
Crowd favourite covers of 'You’re the Voice' and 'Mr Boombastic' are definite highlights and bring out the guilty pleasures of th e audience when they shout “Mr Lover Lover” at a rock show. The band close their set with a great rendition of 'Empty Promises' and they leave their fans in no doubt that they are back and ready for 2015.
