Ginger gets all festive!!!
Ginger Wildheart The Wildhearts' frontman whose hits include 'I wanna go where the people Go, Vanilla Radio, Suckerpunch' and 'Caffine Bomb' has promised to record a specially written song for the person who sends in the most terrible Xmas pressie they have had the misfortune of receiving. As well as the winning entry getting to choose the subject the song should be on, they will also get the only copy too a potentially lucrative piece of merchandise for record collectors in the future. Ginger who has teamed up with fellow Rock reprobate Courtney Love on new single 'Honour', which you can see a live performance of at the bottom of this page said the following below.

"I wanted wanted to do something special for my fans for Xmas, based on the fact that 'GASS' is a song based project what could be more priceless than a personally written and recorded song of mine for the winner, on a subject of their choice, unavailable anywhere else, forever. If I could employ, say Sparks or Cheap Trick to write a song about my kids it would mean more than any merchandise they could sell me. I believe this could be the most personal and precious gift I could ever offer to my fans." - Ginger (The Wildhearts)

The festive period is set to be a busy time for the father of three, who has recorded and released more than one hundred and ten songs in the past five years. As well as organising an all star gig celebrating his 50th birthday on December 17th, South Shields born Ginger launches his next Pledge campaign 'Songs and Words' on Christmas Day before hitting the road for a spoken word and acoustic tour. Ginger, who hit the headlines last year after his fan funded 'Hey! Hello!' topped the Rock album charts depsite not having a record deal.

"I’ll be making available a tour DVD and a book, both called 'Songs and Words'. They're based on the last twenty years as a songwriter, with the story of The Wildhearts onwards told through songs." - Ginger (The Wildhearts)
