Goatwhore - Spill the beans on their new album!!!

August 5th 2014
Santa Ana, California, US

Goatwhore have been giving Morbid Angel a run for their money!

Joe caught up with Goatwhore's drummer Zack Simmons to talk about what is going on at the moment with them and to talk about the new album 'Constricting rage of the Mercilesss'.

Music Trespass: How are you today?

Zack: I'm great. We are in Santa Ana, California on the 'Summer Slaughter' tour. I got to take a shower.... it's a good day.

Music Trespass: Can you tell about your new album 'Constricting rage of the Merciless'.

Zack: It's ten tracks of ripping heavy metal. We recorded the record to two inch tape to really capture the grit and vibe of the band. Everybody involved in this album gave 100% and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Music Trespass: You've used Eric Rutan for production again and Jordan Barlow for the artwork again,do you feel you have found your winning team?

Zack: Totally!!! It's great to have like minded people around who know how to bring out your vision. We're a very loyal bunch and like to keep things consistent by working with this group. Erik and Jordan really know what the band is about.

Music Trespass: It's been sixteen years now since your first demo, how does it feel looking back? Taking into account Goatwhore has now become all the members full time band.

Zack: I've been with the band for ten years now. It certainly doesn't seem like ten years though! The band has had it's fair share of setbacks and unfortunate situations but has always persevered. Every time something bad happens it sort of pushes us harder to overcome.

Music Trespass: What else do you have planned for 2014?

Zack: We are currently on the road with the 'Summer Slaughter' tour in the US with Morbid Angel and a bunch of other bands. In the fall we'll do a handful of shows with Samhain and then head to Europe and the UK to finish out the year. It's good to be busy.

Music Trespass: What are your dessert Island discs?

Zack: An assortment of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead... all the classics..

Celtic Frost (Pictured Above)

Music Trespass: Celtic Frost or Venom?

Zack: Damn you, that's tough. I'd have to go with Celtic Frost if I had to pick one. That's a very hard question.
