Vans Warped Tour

Hatebreed **** (West Stage) for me are one of the highlights of the day. Their brand of Hardcore / Metalcore from the streets gives a nice contrast from some of the other bands on the bill. The band who originally came out of Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1994 have been getting heavier as the years gone by and have built up respect with every band they play with.

They open with 'Put it to the Torch' off their new high praised album 'The Divinity of Purpose' before they play their brilliant hit 'Live for This' which really kicks the band into action and the pit is really good fun, this is what a lot of people have been waiting for all weekend and it really hits to home why we love this band. They play so many great songs in their set,  which includes great renditions of 'Straight to your Face' and 'Everyone bleeds Now'.

On a personal note highlight of the set for me is though when they play a song for mine and their recently departed friend Mick Deth of the band Eighteen Visions which is really nice and would have been is something he would have loved. He loved coming to the UK so it was a fitting tribute and makes the bands performance one of the best of the day. He was a roadie for the band as well because he loved them so much and we can see why by this performance by they are exceptionally good.

By the time they break into 'This is Now' another track off one of my favourite albums 'The Rise of Brutality' everyone in the venue is hooked into Hatebreed. This is a furious track that let's all your aggression out and makes you calmer by the end. So when they get to closing number 'Destroy Everything', another get your frustration out track, you know that Hatebreed's set has ended far to quickly. If you don't know Hatebreed then I really advise you to check them them out because they are brutally brilliant.
