Infected Rain - The rain pours down in the capital

***3/4

One of the hotest bands come to Camden

Infected Rain ***3/4 are a Moldovian band that everyone has been talking about, yes! they have been in quite a few Facebook feeds.Tonight they hit the Camden, Underworld in London, after a successful performance at the Bloodstock Festival. And there is quite some anticipation in the air, because Infected Rain are hotly tipped to do great things. I had listened to their material before attending the show, and I have to say I was not too sure what to think of it. But I wanted to give them a good go, it wasn't that I didn't like it. But after a while, I found some of the songs a little draining. Because as I will talk about later on in the review, I think it's about the structure of the songs.

Like they have all the brilliant parts, like this is an amazing quite vocals bit, that sounds really nice. And this is a great riff, that is really technical, but I am not sure this should go in this place and this doesn't quite join together. It's like having all the right incredients for a recipe, but putting them in the mix in the wrong order or the wrong amount. I have to say they look amazing as they come to the stage, everyone has such great stage presence. And they are using the lighting to show off each member in the right way, you really can't say Lena Scissorhands looks like anyone else. She is so unique in every way, and really shows this off. Maybe Infected Rain are like Marmite, you love or hate them. Or maybe they are aquired taste, they are most certainly not boring. They are entertaining, and now how to move around the stage like veterans in the muisc World.

They work so well together on stage, and have a great connection with each other. The band have their strongest line-up they have had since they formed in 2008, and I think this is why people are taking notice of them. And to be honest they deserve it, because they have put a good package together. Newer singles like 'Because I let You', 'Lighthouse' and 'Dying Light', shape up well next to slightly older songs like 'Figher'. I don't know the band as well as I should do, but I think the majority of the material played is from the last six years. Maybe this is because of the line-up changes, or because their music now is the stongest it has been.

And also the fact I think they are playing the songs the crowd wants to hear, because their are quite a few devoted fans in the audience. Who are sucking up, evey minute of their performance. But is it style of substance, or is it a band that could be one of the biggest Metal bands around. Only time will tell, because if they are the real deal in the next few years their music will shine out even more. And their audiences will grow bigger and bigger, they went down very well recently as a support act to Dragonforce and Amaranthe. I heard they gave both bands a run for their money, so maybe my views on the band are just my views. And maybe I will come to love them, because there was a lot of enjoyable moments about their stage show. Like the way they interacted with the crowd, and used the jump boxes so every could see. They really do conduct themselves as a big band, so could use this to their advantage with future shows.

But for me I have to say the bands imagiary was awesome, and they really got the lighting right. But the things that didn't weigh up for me was the fact the songs were a bit disjointed, like they have really nice melodies and they have great heavy bits. But the problem for me with some of the songs they don't flow, so it's hard in places working out which song it is. It's nice to have clever sequences, but I personally would like more of a song structure. But I would listen to them more, and try to get into them and maybe if I catch them by chance... I will get into them. But for me this time sadly isn't now, but it might be in the future.
