'The Intimate Depression Tour' makes a dynamic stop in Exeter

As it Is **** finally made its stop for their fans in Exeter, in what it could be called a pretty intimate but amazing show. As band stated at the concert this was their first show ever in Exeter, and they were really glad to see a full venue gathered to see them play. Even though The Cavern's capacity was quite small, As it Is managed to create a bond with the crowd having fans singing and jumping along to all their songs.

As it Is is a British American Rock / Pop Punk band based in Brighton,England, formed in 2012 and signed with Fearless Records. As it Is are the first British band to have signed with Fearless Records, showing what confidence the label has in them. Lately As it Is has had quite a full on tour schedule, supporting Enter Shikari while still having their own EU / UK tour, promoting their newest Abum release 'The Great Depression'.

As for the Exeter show, As it Is has had support from Modern Errors as opening act... who have gone down very well indeed. As It Is lead vocalist, Patty Walters never lost the chance of sincerly thanking the fans for all their support, and for 'allowing them to do music as their job'. Patty also mentioned that no matter how tired the band might be, they'll always give their 'outmost for their fans'.... and believe me he was not joking.

In order to have enough energy for their set, Patty took a nap on a sofa in the venue, during opening act. Also as a message that, in my humble opinion, should be always passed on: Patty talked about the on going depression and mental health issues, and how this should not pass by as unknown. He encouraged people to listen and help the ones around them, and to never judge. With this said, band took the chance in playing a more relaxed song, which the crowd much appreciated.

One of the highlights to the set is a cover of The Postal Service song 'Such great Heights', but for me the best song this evening is 'The Fire, The Dark'. You can see a video for this song, at the bottom of the page. Their performance of this tonight, has so much energy and emotion. Over all, this show has had it all..from great music atmosphere, crowd surfers and motivational speach to good light / smoke and bar conditions offered by the venue.

However, if I may be honest, maybe a little too much smoke for its capacity.. made it quite difficult to breath and photograph, at least from where I was standing at the back of venue. As it Is did not have an encore moment, guessing it had something to do with curfew time..however crowd did not seem dissapointed by that as they would have the chance in meeting the band at the merch table or outside the venue. If they're in your city, definitly go and see their live performance..you won't regret it!!!.
