Jack White - Has he recorded covers album with Neil Young?
Jack White and Neil Young might release a collaborative covers album!!!
Jack White and Neil Young have reportedly recorded an album of covers together, according to a few websites on the internet and if this is true what an album it will be. Michael Goldberg writes on a Neil Young fansite Thrasher’s Wheat that the pair have collaborated on an album’s worth of material to be released on Jack White’s Third Man Records Label and Warner Brothers this year. Songs that have been rumoured to be on the album include Bob Dylan's 'Blowin in the Wind, Tim Hardin’s 'Reason to Believe’, Phil Ochs’ ‘Changes’, Gordon Lightfoot’s ‘Early Morning Rain’ and Ivory Joe Hunter’s ‘Since I met you Baby’.
A version of late British Folk artist Bert Jansch’s ‘Needle of Death’ recorded by Neil Young when he visited the Third Man Recording booth last Record Store Day is also likely to appear on the album. If this actually happens it is surely to be a best seller with both acts selling really well with everything they do. We also can't wait for a follow up to Jack White very successful solo album ‘Blunderbuss’ and maybe another White Stripes album (Please!). I have always liked cover versions of Neil Young songs my favourite being the Type O Negative version of 'Cinnamon Girl' which was just amazing, have a listen to it here.
