Jason Aldean shows a pure love of Country music!!!

Country to Country

Jason Aldean ***** is one of my personal favourite Country artists at the moment. His distinctive vocal tone really sends shivers down your spine, and there is just something edgy and exciting about the way he puts across his stories and what he has to say. This makes you want to listen to his music over and over again, with them sticking right in your head. Yes it has taken quite a few years for Jason to come over, but by his performance to day, it has been well worth the wait. As an arena veteran back in the States, he knows what to do and fits into the London, o2 Arena environment like an old pair of slacks.

Jason should really be headlining this years Country to Country (c2c), his professionalism and stage show really stands out from the other acts on the bill and he show that he is in a different league. Opening act Kip Moore though also showed promise and in a few years could possibly give Jason a run for his money but he is not quite their yet. He opens up with his brilliant hit 'Hicktown', one of his more Rock upbeat numbers and a track that hits home to a lot of people that live in a small town. From the start of this track you can see the determination that Jason has for his live show and the fact he can deliver the same quality live as on CD, this is something a lot of artists cannot do.

Tonight at the London's c2c festival Jason Aldean delighted us with songs from his new album 'Old Boots, New Dirt', along with older songs like the brilliant 'My kinda Party' off the album of the same name. These song really did start the party at the London, o2 Arena and welcomed Aldean to the English audience in a fun way. While the opening track from the same album 'Tattoos on this Town', let you know how educational Jason is and shows of his ability to write a great complexed song. During this track you hear a distinctive riff, mixed with Jason's vocal sound, you can tell every time you hear a track by this singer that it is him. He is that unique and this is a really unique track.

Their is no better way to continue his set than with another classic old track, 'Amarillo Sky' is taken from Jason's debut album and now sounds better than it has ever done before. He has put so much life into it, and it sounds really big. It's more traditional than some of his other tracks, but it has been re-evaluated and changed to fit in with the sounds of his new material. He hasn't really changed much but it has been given a great new fresh tone to it without ruining the original song.

First of the new track 'Tonight makes good on You' makes a good impression, it's a very nice slow love song and how good the person you love looks good tonight. This song sounds really good tonight and has a great guitar solo near the end which I really love. This song goes really well next to the sing-a-long new anthem 'Sweet little Something', which already sounds like a Country classic even though it has only just come out in October 2014. Single 'Take a little Ride' explores a fun side of Jason Aldean with a very mainstream commercial video being shown on the screen behind him. 'Fly over States' is a real grower and a very nice interlude in his set.

New tracks like the ballad 'Two night Town' and 'Just getting Started' are just brilliant and works even better live than it does on CD, they both just has such great energy and feel really powerful. I think this shows that he has really come into his own on the new album. 'Two night Town' is a real simple ballad with easy striking riffs, I think this is the reason it works so well. It's Country back to basics and I just love it. If you have not got the new album 'Old Boots, New Dirt' run out and get it, because it is a well written masterpiece with some awesome stories on it.

He does a nice segment from the 'Night Train' album, which starts with the love song 'When she says Baby' which is a Country catchy almost Pop song. This lightens the mood a little until he plays the title track of the album. While he is singing it has a train on the back screen and you get a feel of the old railroad which is really nice. This is backed up by 'The Only way I Know' a fast Rock number that has some attitude to it. I have to admit this is not the album I listen to the most by Jason Aldean, but this is saying something because it is still really good and maybe would be my favourite if it was sung by another artist.

For me one of the best moments in the set is the slick sounds of the sexy number 'Burnin' it Down', which has a slow groove to it and it makes you feel like you have been sucked in by it's powers of seduction... while Jason sings this he moves round the stage like a Country version of Barry White. If you have not seen the video for this song it's one worth checking out, and you can do this at the bottom of this page. I actually had not listened to 'Crazy Town' that much, but it's a really nice Rock ditty that explores the town you live in and makes you feel like you are actually their.

One of the best moments in the set is 'Dirt road Anthem', a song I just can't stop play and was wondering how Jason would do live. I was thinking about this because in the version on the CD he actually raps. This is a great song wrote by Colt Ford and Brantley Gilbert and is one of my favourite songs... both different versions of the song have heard are brilliant. Jason pulls the rap part of really well live to my surprise and it actually sounds even better than on the CD which I thought was not possible.

The set is ended with flames and a full on Rock show for 'She's Country', this song is an explosion of Country Rock that lifts everything and everyone up like a powerful push of adrenaline. Jason Aldean really could not have finished his set in a better way it is simply jaw dropping, and shows what a great Country / Rock artist he is. I can't wait until he plays again and will have my tickets on order straight away.
