Katy Perry meets the China national Orchestra during her first visit to China!

Katy Perry recently visited Beijing in China for a very special evening with the China national Orchestra. The evening involved nearly a hundred musicians, many using tradition Chinese instruments. They played a great instrumental version of her hit song 'Roar' which drove the star to cry tears during the performance. You can see the China national Orchestra performing 'Roar' at the bottom of this page.

Katy Perry's current album 'Prism' also debuted in China where Garand Wu, Managing director of Universal Music Greater China presented her with a gold plaque.
Katy also received a traditional Chinese flute known as a Xun from the China national Orchestra’s Vice-President, Wang Ciheng who played a short piece at Katy's request.
