Kip Moore - Is a promising new talent!!!
****
Kip Moore hits it high in London!
Country to Country Festival
Kip Moore **** is one of the hot new talents in the American Country scene and their is quite a buzz around his performance today. It must be such a big thing for such a new act to be playing in London at the gigantic o2 Arena. Kip is a Country singer that verges on Blues and Rock and has been compared to a young Bruce Springsteen. Well that's a Bruce with a more Country vibe, you can see by Kip's performance today that he has been influenced by The Boss, but has brought his own flavour to it. I think more acts on the Country scene at the moment have admitted that they are also influenced by his work.
Kip Moore opens up the set with the track 'Wild Ones', which is a really big song with anthem esq qualities even though in a way it is slow paced. This is the perfect song to open up with and is an introduction to some people to Kip Moore, so it is a good start. I really like the next song in his set 'Crazy one more Time' which is really haunting and is really memorable. This is a song that will get stuck in your head and has major comparisons to Bruce Springsteen and other American Rock artists. The lyrics are really well written and you can see this is an artist with some talent to bring them across in a really heart felt way.
'Reckless (Still growin' Up)' is one of the first songs I ever heard by Kip Moore. It is a cleverly little ditty that tells you a typical Country story. It is really fun and a little silly, so you can see why everyone seems to love it and enjoy singing it. I know I had a few laughs doing this myself. After getting them going with 'Reckless', he sinks them in with the brilliant 'Drive me Crazy'. This song has the new Country vibe to it and a track that works really well on the live stage. It has a few hints of Bryan Adams to it and as Kip Moore welds his guitar you can see that he is a confident guitar player to, even though this song is not hat complexed on guitar.
'Beer Money' is a fun interval, actually me and one of my photographers Devorah have been playing this song a lot. We found it funny that an artist would write a whole song about spending his spare change on beer. If I was a drinker maybe this is the kind of song I would like to write, but I don't drink so maybe mine would be called 'Record Money'. It's quite funny because all the people near me, didn't sing anything until it came to the bit when he says "Beer Money". Then they shout it out as loud as they possible could to make sure everyone in the auditorium could hear them.
He launches into 'Come and get It' which is a great Country song that sounds like tracks of Bruce Springsteen's 'Born in the U.S.A.' album, which is a really good things because I think in 2015 we need more 90's Rock. Kip is an artist that can really drag you in with his songs, like when he plays 'Hey pretty Girl'... you feel like he is singing it to you direct and I am a guy so I am not pretty or a girl.
Kip then does a miracle, he get's everyone at a Country festival to sing the Oasis hit 'Don't look back in Anger'. Yes! it was simply amazing and just before he embraces the audience with his closing number his No.1 Country hit 'Somethin' about a Truck', which sounds better than it has ever done before. This was a great set from a really promising Country Rock artist, which I think you must check out. Kip Moore must really be making waves because as I leave their is a massive que round the block to meet him and he only has fourty five minutes to do this. So if you like American Country Rock, then check out Kip Moore.
