Prong Support

We find ourselves in Camden again and tonight bill at the Underworld is just two bands. First up is Italy's new hopefuls Klogr who's new album 'Black Snow' I reviewed recently and really enjoyed, so I am looking foreword to what they can produce in a live situation. They take to the stage with a big determination to impress and they have a really good image that matches the music that they produce. They bring you a blend dark mix of Metal and Grunge, That verges on Industrial Metal or even Nu-Metal and has hints of headliners Prong and 90's Korn followers Cold.

First thing that's apparent watching Klogr live is that they are a lot heavier then on record and they bring a wall of sound upon the audience as singer Gabriele 'Rusty' Rustichelli bellows out every lyric to opening number 'Room to Doubt'. Their latest album 'Black Snow' sounds great but the melodies and parts that  are a bit more mellow stand out more. That however is not a bad thing it shows the band can excel on two different levels and you need the whole experience to truly get the band.

Latest single 'Draw Closer' sounds awesome on the London stage and is one of the best songs that Klogr have produced, You can see the music video for this song at the bottom of this page. The band are tight and highly energetic and this really helps them to win over the audience which might not have heard of them before. Again the big riffs and dark melodic chorus make Klogr the perfect support act for Prong. Klogr are one man down today because Giampi is not with them in the line-up tonight to fill up their sound and give Eugenio back up on guitars which tonight he actually doesn't seem to need. Also the bass provided by Joba seems to have drive and a great beats that really drive the band from track to track.

'Vultures Feast' and 'Bleeding' tear us apart and tracks like 'Zero Tolerance' really stand out and you just wish you knew them a little better. These songs really verge on old Industrial and Nu-Metal sounds of the 90's but with a topping to give them a new flair of something unusal and new. 'Black Snow' could possible be one of the Metal records of the year already and the artwork is simply brilliant and really fits what the band is trying to say.

'Hell of Income' is also a stand out track and the guitar work really works when produced live and you can see why Prong are already fans of this band and wanted to bring them on the tour with them. I think their sound is very American and that is the place it would go down the best, would love to see them play in LA or New York were I think they would have everyone really getting what they have to say. I think they are really lucky and smart to be playing to this audience because it's full of people that would be instant fans of this band, so they didn't have to put the work in that they have. But for all the people in attendance I am glad they have, because they work the audience really well and have won quite a few people over.

For a support band you get a lot for your money if you have ventured to the venue to catch Klogr set because they play a grand total of ten songs which the band blaze through with force and closing song 'Guinea Pigs' hits it's disappointing it all has to end. It all just feels like when they have truly gotten you warmed up it's time for them to finish which is a real shame can't wait to see them headline this venue soon.  If they play their cards right bigger audiences await them and they will really go places they have the music and the will power to do great things. But now it is time for them to go and we still have up next the almighty Prong!
