Klogr - Draw Closer

(CD Single Review)

****
Awesome new single from new Italian stallions!

I have heard a lot about Klogr and they have a great sound for a band that only formed in 2011 and they had this sound from the start so when I listened to the band previous material over the last month, I could see how they approved over the years and 'Till you Decay' was simply brilliant. When I heard they were releasing a new single I was excited to hear how they evolved on the new material.

'Draw Closer' is the new single from the upcoming second album which is due for release in 2014. Italian band Klogr (Kay-log-are) I think would be a household name if they had come out in the 90's when bands such as Kilgore and Fear Factory were really popular in the Metal scene. The new track 'Draw Closer' starts with a heavy groove and is backed with lovely synthesizers. It has a great looping chorus which sticks in your head almost instantly. It has this wonderful dark seductive feel. It's very Gothic / Nu-Metal / Industrial Metal sounding with an Industrial tint and  I don't think I've heard many bands do this sound since the late 90's.

Think of a my sinister sounding A Perfect Circle, actually it brings to mind Misery loves Company a band that was so underrated and is not really talked about anymore and they should be because they had a really great sound. Think a more commercial version of Ministry and I think this is why the got the Prong tour support. Anyway 'Draw Closer' is both heavy and darkly melodic, it's a really delicious brilliant single. I would advise you turn up early and see them opening for the mighty Prong and buy the  album when it comes out, because I can't wait to hear more from this mob!
