The Last Cry - Goth up the London Nambucca for one night only!
****
The Last Cry are not 'Punishment' to listen to!
This is no phaffing about with this lot, they go right into action. It's like they had a group huddle before they went onstage and the content of which was ''Right lads, ya know what to do, get on start playing minimal phaffing between songs do your stuff Get Off!!'' Again, professional, confident, self assured and very tight! This is the way you put on a good live performance, and The Last Cry are veterans in this game.
The set comprised of select tracks from the 'Living in Grey' and 'Walking to the Edge' albums, 'Punishment' from latter 'Kicking me in the Heart' Andrew Birch's vocal takes a journey through the counties of Dave Gahan / John Lydon and Ian Curtis quite clearly on the track 'No Resistance' before settling back into county of Birch. It's like being introduced to a new cuisine enhanced with familiar ingredients. Topped off with a bass as smooth as honeyed pork basted in its own juices and a guitar like spun sugar. Am I talking cobblers? I like this band, that's not cobblers and I can't wait to see them live again.
