Lice creep into your mind in a good way

Lice *** are a satirical Art-Punk band from Bristol, tonight they are the supporting band to headliners Idles, and the show is totally Sold Out !!! the Chinnerys in Southend, UK is ready for a crazy night.

On first impression Lice sound like Sultans of Ping FC on acid, mixed with the Dead Beta's and strange Psychedelic Punk Rock. Both Lice and Idles, are bringing back the Art-Rock scene that bands like Art Brut did very well in... a few years back.

They hit the stage with a frenetically paced 'Stammering Bill' followed by 'Voyeur picture Salesman' from the latest EP 'It all worked out Great - Vol 1'. Up next was 'Perv End, Ted's Dead' and the infamous 'Love your Island' (Both from the bands new EP).

Gareth, the bands bass player stared the gig fully clothed but that soon changed and ended up topless and playing, eyes closed in the middle of the venue to ecstatic moshing by the fans. Not to be out done Alastair also ends up in the crowd, which their fans go crazy for.

They thrash through live versions of 'Human Parasite, Little John Wayne's, Gentleman’s Magazine' and set closers 'IAPL / Saccharin', which all go down like they were meant to be played to a Southend audience.

The lead singer Alastair’s dead pan vocals may grate on some people’s nerves, the band as a whole are also musically excellent, and the crowd are surprisingly responsive. Lice are the perfect opening band for this tour, and everyone enjoyed them.
