Little Mix to cover Cameo hit 'Word Up' for Sport Relief!

Little Mix will release the official single for Sport Relief 2014 a cover version of the Cameo 1986 hit 'Word Up' already covered by acts such as Scottish band Gun who took it really high in the charts in the UK and American Nu-Metal band Korn that put a little spin on it. The song was also covered by Spice Girl Mel B but enough said about that version, I don't think it will be going down in history but it did go to number fourteen in the charts. Little Mix were winners of the eighth series of the X-Factor back in 2011 and have built themselves up as household names in the UK with little kids wearing their t-shirts and buying their dolls.

I am sure they will do a great version of the hit because it really suits their styles and voices and hopefully it will raise a lot of money for Sport Relief. The announcement for the single was made direct from Little Mix's Twitter account, and I am sure we will get more information on it in the coming weeks.The single will be available for download March 16th and the on CD the following day on March 17th. Sport Relief takes place from March 21st to 23rd and encourages members of the public to raise money for charity by taking part in activities including running, swimming and cycling. I think we all will be joining in here at Music Trespass...well if they put a record shop at the end, then maybe.
