LostAlone triumph as support to The Darkness!

LostAlone ****1/2 are a stylistic and very talented band and could play what ever style they desired. They are one of the bands that I think is actually most dedicated to musicianship in the music industry. I would like more bands like LostAlone to emerge in the next few years because they are what Britain really needs. Steven Battelle lead singer and guitarist with the band is a massive fan of Queen and the fact The Darkness are almost the modern day Queen this is the perfect slot for LostAlone.

I think LostAlone mix up the sound of bands like Muse, Queen and My chemical Romance with their own blend of enthusiasm and distinctive tone. The later of these bands My chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is a massive LostAlone fan and has even worked on and produced material for them, this as well as the bands incendiary live performances have gained them a lot of respect among bands and a steady following.

They start of their set really furious with 'Do you get what you pray For?' and 'Paradox on Earth' which launch the set off like a rocket with even Steven going into the ground thrashing his guitar all over the place as he looks cool with his blue hair and Disney Monsters inc. jacket. Bass player the Noel Fielding looking Art-Rocker Alan Williamson keeps a steady beat and looks very cool like a real rockstar as the sound of screaming guitars is delivered from left to right of the audience in the pit were Steven has ventured.

You do wonder why this band are not headlining tonight's show rather than The Darkness because their music is brilliant and the album 'I'm a UFO in the City' is a record that is going to gain in stature as the years go on. Songs like 'Vesuvius' really brought this band into a different bracket for me and made me see them for the future prospect they are, another highlight in the bands was the ever brilliant 'Crusaders' which is slower than other songs at the beginning to lift off into a fusion of pure Rock power.

New single 'Bells! Bells!!' is an example of things to come on their new forthcoming album and is really catchy and a good single, this song would really appeal to an American audience. This song is really big and echo's really loud with every lyric coming out precise and clear in the hot sweaty Oxford venue, also other new song 'Hostages' is equally is good and has a vibe of some of the later My chemical Romance material mixed with the defined LostAlone trademark. They end their set with the ever brilliant 'Love will eat you Alive' which is one of the bands most popular and best songs and is a great way to end their short support slot.

If you like good Alternative Indie Rock you can't dismiss LostAlone they are going to be really massive and really bring something new to British Rock that I don't think many bands are doing at the moment so I recommend you to check them out. I know I will pre-ordering the new album so I have it when it comes out.
