Memphis May Fire **** (East Stage) always to bring out a steadily good set and today is no different to that, they fit very nicely into a slot on the East Stage straight after We came as Romans and launch out with steadily perfect performed songs.

They launch into their first very short number 'Without Walls' taken from their new album 'Challenger' which is a steady slogger of a songs that clugs on by and leaves nicely onto 'Alive in the Lights' the next track on the same album. These tracks both merge into one and have similar tempo's and go by like the flash of a blade. 'The Victim' off the last album stands out as a killer of a track but as a live spectacle I think that Memphis May Fire have got a little complacent and don't really deliver anything new.

When I saw them at the Slam Dunk Festival in Wolverhampton earlier in the year I was really impressed with them as a live act, So I don't really know when they started to change. I think maybe because they never really have got to the heights they should have.  Even though I say all of this about the band they pull out of the hat a four star performance without even trying. 

I think this is because the music stands out for itself and with songs like 'The Sinner, Vices' and of course 'The Victim' they really impress the crowd without really trying. I think within time this band will get noticed for being one the of the premier Metalcore bands and they deserve it. They end with the song 'Prove me Right' and they sure do that.

This is a band that does what it says on the tin, they are Metalcore and they are proud of it and I advise you to listen to their last album 'Challenger' and the one before 'The Hollow' you won't be disappointed. This is a band for fans of Miss May I, We came as Romans and The Word Alive, so if you like these this is a band for you.
