Monday Mirchiru announces first concert in over two decades
Monday Michiru is a singer-songwriter who first appeared in the UK as special guest of Mondo Grosso at the height of the Acid Jazz movement in the early 1990's, for which she was one of the pioneers in Japan. Monday Michiru performed last in the UK at the 1996 Phoenix Festival alongside Ben Harper, The Pharcyde, Maxwell, Guru's Jazzmatazz and more.
Monday Michiru has been releasing solo albums since 1991 and has collaborated with Basement Jaxx, Kyoto Jazz Massive, DJ Krush, Masters at Work, United Future Organisation, Mondo Grosso, Soul Bossa Trio and many more over her distinguished career. Monday Michiru is the daughter of Jazz pianist Toshiko Akiyoshi and Jazz saxophonist Charlie Mariano
Aside from her music career, Monday has also been a successful actress, model, radio presenter and journalist. She plays Under the Bridge in London as part of the Innervisions Festival on the 7th of July, the fantastic music venue under Chelsea FC ground Stamford Bridge. If you have not been there, it's a very beautiful special venue... so this is going to be a night not to be missed.
