Motorhead - Is it time for them to bow out gracefully?

Legends don't impress at Graspop
Graspop Festival
Motorhead ** (Main Stage 1) have been really struggling recently, with lack lusture performances all over the place... and we all know why. Lemmy has been going through a lot of medical problems recently, and had to even cancel loads of shows due to his illnesses. The question is? who is letting Lemmy continuing playing, when he is clearly not up to par. I think this person, should be shot because the band is really harming their legacy and we all know how strong that is. But even the best, can't play if they are not feeling well and happy.
Motorhead are one of the biggest Metal bands in the World, influencing most musicians that take the stage in the Metal and Classic Rock genres. They are a band that should be treated with respect, and I really do respect them. But this is a live review and I have to judge them by the show they delivered and that was only two stars. For most of the show they just stood their, not moving and this is not good to watch. They really need to decide if they want to continue in this way, or do something about the problems to make themselves look better when they perform live.
Lemmy really did struggle at the Graspop festival on the vocals, needing Phil Campbell to back him up. I think maybe it is time for them to leave the live arena and concentrate on their albums, because they have actually been brilliant. From the last offering 'Aftershock' to the new release 'Bad Magic', they have really delivered fine Classic Rock / Metal releases... that any band would be happy of. Ok we all know that Mikkey D has been playing a long drum solo, at recent shows. But their is much more to Motorhead's show than that.
They really do mix it up, like opening with 'Shoot you in the Back' a nicely titled song from their classic 'Ace of Spades' album. A record that every one should own in their collection. To the brilliant 'Over the Top' and the hits 'Overkill' and 'Ace of Spades' off the album of the same name we mention before. Showing that even though they can't give people the performance they wanted, they will give the songs that the fans wanted.
And these are the one's I think the Belgium fans wanted, well at least one really happy fan near me who got a signature off Lemmy earlier wanted. Their isn't actually much to say about this set, it's brilliant songs done in a simple way. Motorhead play Metal and they play it loud, and they still do that. But I really do think it's time they bowed out gracefully and only play live shows on special occasions.
I have to say to the band... please Motorhead don't give up producing albums, because the Metal World really do need them. Especially with no new bands stepping up to the plate. Look out for Motorhead albums for years to come, and of course loads of great Motorhead merchandise headphones, wine and maybe even toilet paper. This is a band you should wear on your T-Shirt with pride, because they really did change the face of Metal.
