Nothing More to say... than this band always impress

Nothing More **** are a rising American Rock / Metal band from San Antonio, Texas that really mix up the genres with elements of different styles. One minute you think this is Nu-Metal next this is Progressive Metal / Rock or even Tech Metal. But strangely the flips in style, are not out of place or out of time. This is a band that can mix it up with style, and have a massive live sound. I remember seeing this band years ago, opening for so many different bands to a very small audience. But they have gone a long way from then, with their albums doing very well in the Rock charts. And playing large venues, like both these Sold Out!!! nights at the London, o2 Forum in Kentish Town tonight supporting Papa Roach.

You can see a lot of people have turned up early, in order to catch the San Antonio, Texas Rock band... and after seeing them live again... I can see why. They have a new confidence and attitude, that is just so big on stage. Singer Jonny Hawkins, who strangely started off as the drummer in the band. Really knows how to command the stage, and doesn't make any mistakes vocally or when he goes on percussion.I think the fact he has not gone totally away from being a drummer, makes Jonny really unique because his sense of timing is impeccable and he bring a tribal experience and presence to the band.

Nothing More have a cave man like appearance to them, walking round the stage like the evolution of ape to mankind. This is not a homoerotic thing, this is the start of man... going into the futuristic elements of the bands music. They go from the early incarnation of music, to the futuristic sound of Metal in the year 2050. And I don't think you can say, any other band can do this. They take you on a journey in your mind, and make you explore the music they are bringing across to you.

One of the tracks to go down the best in the bands set is 'Don't Stop', the bands most recent single which they recorded with Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix on added vocals. I think this was a very smart more for Nothing More, because the Papa Roach crowd already knew the band before they got to the show to see them support. This track is so big tonight, as well as the following track the classic favourite 'Go to War' which is always a big hit for the band.

Highlights in the bands set as always are the drum percussion sequences, and they way the band command themselves as they climb on their futuristic props and drums. Along with classic tracks like 'Jenny, This is the Time (Ballast)' and the ever popular 'Fade In / Fade Out' one of the bands more emotional quieter tracks. Probably one of the lesser moments in the bands set was 'Do you really want It?', which is not as big as it used to be. I think they could put a lot more into this track, but when your so big on other songs maybe you need the come down on tracks like 'Fade In / Fade Out' and 'Do you really want It?'. The question is do we really want that, from a band that really works on it's intensity.

I don't know if I love or hate the fact they close their set with two different cover versions, both nights they played in London. I think when a band does this... they don't have pure confidence that they own material is enough. When their own material is really enough, and how many bands have closed their set with a cover of the Queen hit 'We will Rock You'. Well I have to tell you, it's a hell of a lot. Ok in comparison their Skrillex cover 'First of the Year (Equinox)' cover is a lot better, and fits in with the bands set and attitude a lot more. I think this was a very good support set, by a band that is really going places. Nothing More are future Rock giants, and it's only a matter of time for them to take their place up their with the big boys.
