Vans Warped Tour
Parkway Drive **** (East Stage) are for me the main headline act even though Rise Against finish the day off and seem biggest crowd of the day. In the last few years Parkway Drive have been growing in status and popularity with quite a few people in attendance today just to see them.

Opening with 'Dark Days' of their last album 'Atlas' which has already done really well for them, but for me their best album was the one before 'Deep Blue' which showed the band can mix up Metalcore / Deathcore with commercial Metal in a really appealing way. 'Atlas' is a great record though it had more dynamics than 'Deep Blue' and showed the band had grown intellectually with the way they play their instruments.

They continue with 'Sleepwalker' off the 'Deep Blue' record that plods along nicely and then lunges at you with grabbing vocals before they unleash the anthem Esq. 'Home is for the Heartless' which as a killer solo in it and is one of their more appealing songs.

They then delight fans with some of their older material like 'Idols and Anchors' and 'Boneyards' that really get the circle pits going. These stirs up the crowd for an enjoyable set. 'The River' cools the audience down a little before warming them back up again ready for 'Swing' which is a fast paced number.

They end the set on two fan favourites 'Wild Eyes' which has a great sing-a-long anthem quality and sounds very epic and 'Carrion' and you wonder why they were not last on tonight but it at least means that some people can make an early exit home to make sure they catch their last bus.  They have loads of smoke and confetti come up in certain songs some times a little too much, I think they were working on a small budget and sometimes some of their material is a little to generic and slow but they are quite enjoyable to watch and go down really well.
