Pretty Addicted - Show you how to clown around at Slimes!

Get ready for London's crack whores!!!

Pretty Addicted ***1/2 is a nasty breed of Darkwave that verges on similarities with Combichrist and Aesthetic Perfection or even Hocico, they mix this up with a brand of Techno or even Rave and a great sense of fun. I really like what they do but I thought they had more dimensions to the live show when Ben Main (Ex-Pretty Addicted, Stereo Juggernaut) was in the band, for me the two contrasts of the vocals really worked, but I do also like the direction they are heading in now. Pretty Addicted's music is simplistic, dark and it has a really good attitude to it, which is actually a bad temperament that is delivered to you really well by Vicious who's dark ego oozies with charisma. 

The show starts of with a evil clown gracing the stage giving out evil red and white stripped lollies before Vicious Precious bursts the room into motion coming out like the cat in the hat and burst into a chaotic opening number, to the delight of all the audience which have been waiting patiently for them to come. The live set up tonight is very simplistic just Vicious and drummer and a few toys scattered all round the stage, ready to be used by her when she felt like it.

If you have not seen Pretty Addicted before you won't know that the whole show is circled around Vicious' persona which is evil and twisted and with songs like 'I would f**k Me' and 'Slut Junkie' you can see this is not a band for the faint hearted and you need a stomach to be able to take them in. Well in my opinion you can't go wrong with a song about crack whores and this band has a song about this and a lot of other topics that you wouldn't bring up at the dinner table, well maybe you would if it was the dinner table out of the 'Texas chainsaw Massacre'.

One of the highlights is Vicious dancing with the giant clown for a song simply entitled 'Clown' which everyone in the crowd goes really mental for and dance like it's going out of fashion. Also when she mounts the little turtle toy (Shown at the bottom of the Page) it's quite amusing and the song with the half naked fire breather is also worth talking about and nice to see. 

This is a good set for Pretty Addicted today did think it was a little too long for a act that hasn't been going to long so it get's a little similar after a while but great stage antics and presence by a front woman with attitude really makes the set and your left with the feeling it's been worth while to see. I would go see Pretty Addicted again because I think they will get better and better and for a new act they did really well.
