Classic 1983 recording get's the CD treatment
'Piano and a Microphone - 1983' is a nine track home recording, which has already hit the shops. And is thirty five minutes in length, and is a must for any Prince fan. Featuring a previously unreleased home studio cassette recording of Prince solo at his piano captured in 1983 it gives you a little glimpse into his private World and is something extra special.
The album provides a rare, intimate journey into Prince's creative process as he worked through songs including 'Purple Rain' and '17 Days' and a cover of Joni Mitchell's 'A case of You'. The album also contains 'Strange Relationship' is a song not released until 1987 where it appeared on his critically acclaimed album 'Sign O' the Times '.
For fans of Prince's spontaneous live medleys, tracks one to seven of the album are presented in that same format as they were originally recorded. The Deluxe CD + LP format includes a 12" booklet featuring brand new liner notes written by Prince's then engineer Don Batts, The Revolution member Lisa Coleman and Paisley Park artist Jill Jones, as well as candid shots of Prince including never before seen photos and original hand written lyrics.
