Red Method - Show why they are one of the most important new Metal bands!!!!
****1/2
A Metal monster is reborn!!!
Red Method ****1/2 where one of the most talked about bands at this years Bloodstock festival, with a sea of their T-Shirts being seen all around the event. And a performance that scared all the headliners of the festival into submission, if you have seen the video footage from the event you will see what I am meaning. Red Method were a late addition to 'The Monstrous Sabat' concert put on by Cradle of Filth and Voodoo Rocks, London, they added them to the bill after seeing how great they where at recent concerts. And I think that is a brave move by Cradle of Filth, because Red Method have been getting a reputation as a hard band to go on after. And I love the fact that they added them because they liked them, and didn't care about the fact they had to follow them.
You will also be shocked to hear that Red Method, put on such a great performance. Even though they were dealing with two members in the form of brothers Fred (Drums) and Will (Bass) Myers. who left the band just before three concert dates that the band couldn't afford to turn down. Most bands would have cancelled the dates, but this is not how Red Method do things. They grabbed two really accomplished musicians in the form of James Perry - Drums (Onslaught / This is Endless) and Lew Berl - Bass (Dishonur the Crown), and I have to say the first was simply breathtaking during the whole set.
They have a massive buzz to them that hasn't been seen the like of since Slipknot, Coal Chamber, Linkin Park, Papa Roach and Cradle of Filth all came to the scene in the 90's and 2000's. With songs like 'The Absent', 'Messiah', 'Split' and 'Ideology of the Sick', you can see why they are gaining such popularity. Red Method are going to be one of the bands, people are going to be saying. I was there when they played at the Fighting Cocks in Kingston, well I doubt you where... because not many people where. This show was one of the most violent shows I have ever been to, and I had really bad concussion after from my head being smashed into one of the speakers at the side of the stage. Yes! early Red Method shows where that brutal, and like nothing else.
A Metal monster has been reborn again from the ashes of their Bloodstock performance, a set that will gone down in history. Red Method are always reinventing themselves and moving forward, working so hard to get over problems and complications. In order to produce a show, that can compete with any Metal band out there at the moment. And this is a ride that you will really want to go on, I know I do. I just can't stop playing their album 'For the Sick', which is a heavy masterpiece. It has hints of so many bands, like Slipknot, Soulfly, Motionless in White, Slayer, The Defiled, Amen and so many more... but at the same time keeping their own sound. You would just feel sick, years on if you hadn't bought this record when you first had the chance... it is that good. And Red Method's live peformance just keeps on getting better.
Their short five set goes by too quickly, and people that have not heard them before in the audience are wondering why they hadn't. And trying to find out on their phones, where they can get the bands records. We saw hints of what was to come in the bands that originally made up the early incarnation of Red Method, The Defiled, Meta-Stasis, Ted Maul ext... but this is almost the finished article and it is quite something. If you missed their performance at Bloodstock and missed their performance supporting Cradle of Filth, make sure you see them quickly... because this band are going to be so big.
