Reflection in Exile - The Insufferable Darkness
****
'The Insufferable Darkness' is a must for Death Metal fans!
Starting off with a intro entitled 'Disarra' that slowly leads you on to the six minute opener the really long and title track 'The Insufferable Darkness' which is a slice of classic Death Metal that launches at you like nothing else. The riffage on this song is classic and what you want to hear from a band in this genre and not over done. 'Astray from the Light' has a slow build up and has some riffs that sound like they have been lifted from a Machine Head record before it goes into something that might be used by a more technical Deicide.
'The Blackened Standard' is nothing that new but the way it is done and the way it is played is, Reflection in Exile are really tight and are better than most Death Metal bands around at the moment and can be seen most Saturday nights down the Unicorn in London. Ending with 'The Decaying Process' you know this is a Death Metal band that will be around for years and have so much to offer. This is for fans of Behemoth and Deicide and is a really promising EP from a new band so well worth listening to.
