Rotting Christ - Produce a great live performance!

Greek titans take over the Electrowerkz for one night only!

Rotting Christ **** If i had any vertebrae out of alignment they were certainly aligned when I left the Electrowerkz but my ear buds definitely had melted!! From the opening track 'Nemecic' I was sold. I did not have to be bullied into surfing the wave I surfed the wave willingly, I quickly found my balance and stayed the course through twelve tracks. I loved 'Societas Satanas' which chugged along, I wish I had room to bend and have a good head banging session but their was no room to move tonight. Their was so many people packed into the venue that I had to save it until I got home.

'In Yumen Xibalba' is a complexed song with Xibalba meaning a place of fear was another stand out track which has meditational intro and builds up into a cathartic orgasmic crescendo, sends shivers down my misaligned spine this does Here I am thinking of underground cavernous expanses!!! pause to listen to 'Punchaw Kachun' which was not played, this is a track I really love. There is something invocational and ceremonial at play here, each track is a key to another level of consciousness, cleansing and fortifying.

I know that I came out of the gig in a better frame of mind than I went in, I found 'Sanctus Spiritus Diavolos' uplifting and on we go on our journey unlocking doors with aural keys through 'The Sign of prime Creation' to 'Phobos Synagogue' which comes from the album 'Theogonia' This narrowed my eyes and wanting to punch a hole in a Speaker stack in front of me but I refrained and aggressively stamped the barrier with my heal. ''Hey little kid come here, believe in us and be like us Taste the sapor of the forbidden seed, Drown the awe breath, far in your azure deeps fear ain't your foe but your ally to meet your dream''. Last track before the encore 'Noctis Era', '' We are the fears, We are always near, We are the fears that feed our souls with frozen tears, We are the fears, We sound clear ,We are the fears that nail your soul with our spears'' Enough said me thinks!! A fine set was finished off with rendition of 'King of the Stellar War' and 'Arhon'.

To sum up this was fine set but the London Electrowerkz is not the venue for them, Somewhere else where the sound is allowed to spread out a bit would be better. I am a RCN (Rotting Christ Novice) but what what i have heard I like. More listening on my part is called for I think with some bedtime reading. The band are enigmatic and charismatic without trying and I suspect that if the Greek army had Rotting Christ to march to war to 2500 years ago they would have except that would have been called Rotting (Add God / Goddess / Saviour of Man).
