Rude Audio - Street light Interference
****
Chillin' to the sounds of Rude Audio
I really liked the last Rude Audio EP I listened to 'Rude Relux', we gave it four stars. It was nice journey through Electronic music, and reminded us a lot of the 90's and work by acts like The Shamen and Transglobal Underground. And this new album from the start makes me think the same, think The Shamen album 'Axis Mutatis', which was loved by some and not understood by others. The first track 'Repeat Offender' is a nice slice of this, I just wish it went more places... I think it's a little bit of a 'Repeat Offender'.
I think the second track 'Don't follow Me' is a little bit more interesting, with it's sweeping haunting sound that buzzes above and it's nice electronic keys. Overlayed with chanting and what sounds like a glockenspiel. Also the early Industrial edge that comes in near the end of the track. Yes! it is all a bit 90's Electronic Dance / Ambient. But sometimes I think we want a bit of that, I know I do. I would love to put this song late at night, while I am chilling in my room.
One of my favourite tracks on the album is the Add N to X Electro style bleepy 'Rude Alert'. which could be the background the music in some weird crazy 80's / 90's computer game. Have a listen I think you retro games lovers, would love this piece of music.'Rude Mission' takes us into World music, and different places. With a few space age sounds, that might even come from a toy gun. And a bass line, that is constructed differently which i trying to work out where it comes from.
Again the light World music Esq. chanting adds something different to the music, and I really like this. The EP is topped off by some nice remixes of tracks which I first heard on their 'Rude Relux' EP, which are a nice added edition. The album is a nice slice of Instrumental / Ambient music, that crosses through genres. My girlfriend makes music just like this and will really love this EP and use it for Yoga, and I think for me it might be one of my late night chilling CD's. I really enjoyed what I got to listen to, and it'/s nice to see an act still doing music like this.
