Shalamar going to give the UK a 'Night to Remember'!!!

Our reporter Jon Cooper had a 'Night to Remember' when he got to chat to Jeffery Daniels from the legendary Soul sensations Shalamar. 

Music Trespass: Are you looking forward to your upcoming shows?

Jeffery: Really looking forward it, they are our very last shows of the year.

Music Trespass: What have you got in store for the UK crowds?

Jeffery: A catalogue of Shalamar hits, with lots of energy to get the crowd singing and dancing. We’ll be there dancing with them,  playing some feel good music.

Music Trespass: What do you think is so enduring about your music, that makes it so loved thirty years on?

Jeffery: Music that makes you feel good about yourself,  tracks like ‘I can make you feel Good' and 'Second time Around’ with their uplifting sounds. ‘This is for the lover in You’ they can look into their life and these amazing people are bringing the next generation of fans along.

Music Trespass: Do you have a favourite song you like playing live?

Jeffery: Hard as I have a few ‘I can make you feel Good, I owe you One’ which is one of our older ones. ‘A Night to Remember’ it’s tough to pick as I am a fan of our music too.

Music Trespass: When the world is so crazy maybe there is a place for having fun and people enjoying Disco?

Jeffery: We don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow. People are going over the edge with stabbings, terrorists, the threat of war, trade agreements. With Brexit and Trump too, but we want to let people get away from it all for an hour or two. At the end of every show I pass on a message, not to preach, but to spread the love.

Music Trespass: An element of Funk has returned to modern music, do you think you can take some credit?

Jeffery: A would be flattered if we could take a bit, of the credit for that. Great music stands the test of time and will be influence on what comes next.

Music Trespass: You have worked with some amazing people over the years, who stands out?

Jeffery: Michael Jackson, I worked with him for over twenty years. Also Paul McCartney and I also have to give my regards to Linda who I have precious memories of.

Music Trespass: What was it like working with Michael Jackson?

Jeffery: He was so unique, a beautiful talent, soul and person. He was a very great talent, very intense and dynamic.

Music Trespass: Have you got any new music in the pipeline?

Jeffery: I am working on producing some UK artists and working with Sammie Jay on her own.

What music are you listening to at the moment?

Jeffery: I am listening to some Japanese music. I am working on a project where I am writing the English lyrics for these Japanese songs. It is mostly for the Japanese audience as they know the songs and I am not sure others would.

Music Trespass: Anything else you would like to add?

Jeffery: I want to see everybody come out and have a good time. I always have a good time in the UK; it’s always a good crowd. We like brining Shalamar back to the people.
