Silenzer - Open up proceedings in a big way!!!

Alternative Rock have a new contender for the throne

Silenzer **** are a band worth turning up early to check out, if your a fan of commercial Alternative Rock and Metal. Then you really can't go wrong with giving Silenzer a try, and I am meaning the Austrian band Silenzer. Because sadly there is quite a few bands with the same name, some using The before the name, and some not. So you really need to make sure, you are finding the right one. And I think this might be one of the reasons, why you have not heard more about this band. Because they are hard to find online, or you might get the wrong one.

Saying all this, the word must have got out about them, because there is quite a few people that have turned up early to see them. The band are strongly lead by Chris Hollik, who is a prominent figure at the front of the stage for the bands set at the London, Islington, o2 Academy. This is because the other band members, are stuck more at the back of the stage. Because of the headliners Mushroomhead's big water drums, which makes it very hard for other members to make a impact in the the performance.

So they are only really doing this with their sound, because the lights also doesn't help this. With them being hard to see, under the dark blue lights. But the music still sounds great, with great elements of all the Alternative Rock and Metal genres in their songs. So if you are a fan of Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Alien ant Farm, Thirty seconds to Mars and Grey Daze, you are going to be a fan of Silenzer. A lot of people told me they are a Metalcore band, and yes! they have elements of Emo / Screamo / Deathcore and Metalcore, but I feel they are more on the Nu-Metal / Alternative Rock and Metal spectrum.

With the music being very friendly to the average listener, at the same time being commercial and being interesting. Just because you are commercial, it doesn't mean you can't have intricate details to your music You can hear this on their opener 'Abgrund' and their other single 'Ex', which you can see at the bottom of the page. Silenzer are really a band that have got their sound right. They really know what they are doing in their muisc, but I still think they need to find an identiy past this.

And once they have, they will hit the mainstream charts and be household names in the UK, America and Germany. Like they are gathering in their home country Austria. I really think Silenzer just need to change a few things, and success will come their way. So watch this space, I am sure you are going to be hearing a lot more from this band. And remember, to make sure you are listen to the right band.
