EP01 is out now!!!!

The strange and unusal Sparklet has just released a very interesting debut EP release, simply entitled 'EP01'. The EP was relased on the 19th of May, and already has receieved rave reviews. “Painterly sea, painterly sun” goes the chorus of Sparklet’s colour soaked debut single 'Mykonos, SA'., which was the first one to be released off the EP. It’s not the jewelled Aegean he’s referring to, but the waves around Club Mykonos, a holiday resort his father worked at in their hometown of Cape Town.

The story of Club Mykonos is told in vibrant Electro Pop colours alongside a video that reveals more about Sparklet’s approach; a restless creativity, playfulness and a painter’s eye for detail that brings in everything from rave aesthetics to 80's Soft Rock guilty pleasures. It’s just as well that Sparklet is also a successful visual artist. His upcoming shows include 'Death row Dinner’ at The Fourth Gallery, and the Cape Town Art Fair 2022. He is also a designer and received the 2016 Silver Loerie award for his poster design.

Sparklet is part of a group of friends and collaborators from Cape Town who are starting to find a Global audience with their art under the guidance of indie label Leafy Outlook. Ross Dorkin and Robin Brink of the band Beatenberg lent a hand in parts of the recording of 'EP01', whilst Matthew Field’s (also of Beatenberg) solo effort 'M Field' EP released last year was critically acclaimed.
