Death Metal legends pull off a five star performance

Suffocation ***** New York Death Metal legends Suffocation grace our shores again, after demolishing The Camden Underworld in London last summer they are part of yet another tour. It was announced just days ago that classic frontman Frank Mullen who has stopped touring for a number of years has permanently stepping down from his position. The have yet another frontman with them tonight Ricky Myers who has toured with the band previously.

He gives a fantastic performance and his growls dominate the songs. The band are as tight as ever... Terrance Hobbs is still the greatest guitar player I've ever seen. His solos, his speed everything is beyond human. Newcomer Charlie Errigo is the perfect sparring partner for Terrance and has grown into his role wonderfully as has new drummer Eric Morotti. 

Every song from start to finish are really strong, from opener 'Thrones of Blood' to closer 'Infecting the Crypts', they just can't fail to impress me. Where other acts in the same genre, have failed to evolve and keep their audience. Suffocation have just gone from strength to strength and with tracks like 'Clarity through Deprovation' and 'Abomination Reborn' they show why they have not gone away. Not to mention one of the best tracks in tonights set 'Return to the Abyss', which is now a massive live favourite.

As unit they just absolutely slay. The band plough through their ten song set and it's just a relentless fifty minutes. Suffocation simply can do no wrong. One of the most brutal and technically proficient bands out there. The era of Suffocation continues, and I look forward to listening to them for years to come. This is a band at it's best, they just get better and better every time I go to see them, so I would strongly recommend you do.
