Sunset Sons announce dates and their new track 'Running Man'

Sunset Sons are today sharing ‘Running Man’, their much-anticipated new single and first music since the release of the trio’s 2016 UK top thirty debut album ‘Very rarely say Die’. Produced by MPG UK "Producer of the Year" Catherine Marks (The Big Moon, Foals), ’Running Man’ is the first track to emerge from the band’s forthcoming new EP ‘The River’, due out on July 6 2018 via LAB Records (home to Now, Now and Hockey Dad). Following a Sold Out!!! Killing Moon show at last month’s The Great Escape, Sunset Sons will headline London’s Electrowerkz on July 3rd, 2018.

Whilst demand around the release of ‘Very rarely say Die’ (produced by Jacquire King and James Lewis) saw Sunset Sons headline both London’s Koko and Shepherd’s Bush Empire venues as part o Sold Out!!! UK tours... alongside radio airplay from Radio 1 and Radio X... they maintain the air of a band still slightly taken aback by their own popularity. Sunset Sons came into being entirely by chance, in a bar on the beach of sleepy French surfing hotspot Hossegor.

Drummer Jed Laidlaw encountered frontman Williams hammering out cover versions on a piano in between pot washing stints at the bar, which happened to be owned by a cousin of Australian bassist Pete Harper. The band’s debut EP ‘Le Surfing’, named in honour of the bar. This EP was recorded in just three days in breaks between surfing stints (the band, even now, still live and surf together in Hossegor). The EP later went top ten on the iTunes chart without any promotional push behind it. So whilst the soaring chorus of this new release might ask the question ‘How long will I be a running man?’, you sense that their unstoppable momentum will be carrying Sunset Sons further forwards, upwards and away from Hossegor for some time yet.
