Thunder - Show that they can give the American's a run for their money...
***1/2
Thunder fly the flag for the British!!!
After the now signature intro of ACDC’s 'Thunderstruck', Thunder took to the stage with gusto, launching straight into 'Dirty Love'. Danny then announced to the excited audience “it’s a pleasure to share the stage tonight with such greats as Whitesnake and Journey to which the crowd erupted into a raucous cheer. I think the band were genuinely surprised as to how packed the arena was at the time they came on, but everyone seemed to have taken their seats in time to see Thunder play. This was indeed a set of Thunder greats, with such classics as 'Backstreet Symphony,Higher Ground, Low life in high Places' and 'The Devil made me do It'.
Danny has a definite rapport with fellow band mate Ben, and the two of them appeared to share a joke with each other at every opportunity. None of the members show their age, they were all full of energetic enthusiasm, and really appreciated the audience singing along with the band’s classic numbers, such as 'Love walked In' Danny coaxing the awestruck crowd into impromptu sing-a-longs. Finishing the set with 'I love you more than Rock ‘n’ Roll', to a well deserved standing ovation, hopefully tonight’s performance will prove to everyone that there is still a huge following for one of Britain’s best loved home grown Rock bands.
